BASELGAS

Si eres de los que disfrutan de descubrir rincones bonitos de Asturias, tienes que visitar Baselgas.

Al sur del concejo de Grau/Grado, a unos 15 km de la villa, se encuentra este pueblín por el que parece que no pasa el tiempo. Presume de tener una curiosísima concentración de hórreos y paneras, distribuidas entre encantadoras casas de piedra. Además, al estar rodeado de paisaje autóctono y alejado de las carreteras principales, podemos afirmar que tiene unas de las mejores vistas de la zona. Bajo uno de sus hórreos aún se puede observar un pisón de rabil (ingenio de madera para desergar la escanda).

Para llegar desde la villa de Grau/Grado, toma la AS-313 en dirección Sama durante 9,5 km aproximadamente y luego el desvío a Baselgas a la derecha. La carretera desde el desvío hasta Baselgas está en buen estado pero debe conducirse con precaución porque hay varias curvas cerradas.

If you are one of those who enjoy discovering beautiful corners of Asturias, you must visit Baselgas.  

In the south of the council of Grau/Grado, about 15 km from the town, is this little village which seems as if time has stood still. It has a very curious concentration of “hórreos” (raised granaries) and “paneras”, distributed among charming stone houses. Moreover, as it is surrounded by the local landscape and away from the main roads, it has some of the best views in the area. Under one of its “hórreos” you can still see a “pisón de rabil” (a wooden device used to separate the husk from the spelt grain).
To get there from the village of Grau/Grado, take the road AS-313 towards Sama for about  9.5 km and then the detour to Baselgas on the right. The road from the detour is in good condition, but you should drive with caution because there are several sharp bends.
