ARIAS MIRANDA- HOUSE OF ARCHES

En contrucción

This house is located on the General Ponte Square where a local traditional market is held every Wednesday and Sunday. The building has three floors; the two first floors are dated from the 18th century and are designed in ashlars of pink limestone while the third floor, beside the dormer window, seems to correspond to an extension from the 19th century.
This construction resembles a type of urban dwelling that is repeated throughout other villages of the region and is possibly the last construction of this kind that stands on a wide complex that was incorporated along the main piazza.
What stands out to the beholder is the portico with semicircular arches on the ground floor from which the house is named. It shows a symmetric distribution of the hollows which point to the wrought iron central balcony on the first floor and whose hanging parapet is sealed with twisted iron screens similar to that of rococo style.
